OSHA 10 Construction & General Industry Training

The Eastern Carolina Safety and Health School recognizes that many of our conference participants have a need for OSHA 10 training. With that in mind, we have decided to create an opportunity and hold (3) OSHA 10 courses prior to the annual conference.

These offerings will be:
  • OSHA 10 Construction (English) (March 18 - 19)
  • OSHA 10 Construction (Spanish) (March 18 - 19)
  • OSHA 10 General Industry (English) (March 20 - 21)
The OSHA 10-Hour Safety course is designed to provide workers with a basic understanding of some of the most hazardous activities. The emphasis is on hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention, rather than on OSHA standards only. This course informs participants about the OSHA requirements and, more importantly, helps them understand why the requirements are there, how they can protect themselves and their co-ˇworkers, and how to file a complaint. This course covers topics pertaining to regulations covered by OSHA standards in 29 CFR 1926 (Construction) & 1910 (General Industry) and will help meet the industry standards training requirements established by OSHA. Employers and insurance companies are often requiring that contractors coming onto their work sites have OSHA 10-Hour training.

Participants who successfully complete the course will:
  • Be able to recognize, evaluate, and eliminate conditions that can lead to job site safety hazards
  • Be familiar with OSHA, including provisions of the OSHA Act, the general duty clause, responsibilities of the competent person, and how to file a complaint
  • Understand worker rights protected under OSHA
  • Understand employer responsibilities protected under OSHA
All participants who successfully complete this class will receive an official OSHA 10 pocket card issued by the United State Dept. of Labor.
